Sumitomo Bakelite to open
factory in TLIP
(August 10, 2001)
Hanoi, 10 August 2001 - Sumitomo Bakelite Co., Ltd., a world-wide reputed Japanese company in manufacturing Flexible PWB, rigid laminates, semiconductor related chemical materials, industrial plastics..., have been awarded the Investment License by HIZA to open production base in North Thang Long Industrial Park. Sumitomo Bakelite Vietnam Co., Ltd., the name company, registered with total legal capital of USD 11.0 million, total investment of USD 35.0 million, and the life time of 46 years. The factory area of the company is about 4.0 hectares. Main product of the factory is flexible printed circuit boards, which are commonly used in high-end electronic devices such as mobile phones... According to initial scheme, this company will start operation by March 2002 and all of its products will be exported. This company will hire about 600 workers from local labor force.
