This year, June 13 marks an important milestone for Thang Long Industrial Park as its construction work completes after 2 years of restless effort. The book of Thang Long Industrial Park now turns into a new page and set the pace to the promising future.

As we turn back to the past, there are various events we will always remember.

From the very beginning of this project, we have kept in mind our criteria which go along with us for the whole project period.

We committed ourselves to provide tenants with the international-class infrastructure facilities, the best supporting services for their successful operation. Thanks to years of experience of Sumitomo Corporation, Thang Long Industrial Park is built up with the top-of-the-art infrastructure which includes a purified water supply system, a wastewater treatment system, a electric substation and distribution system, and telecommunications system which all are installed underground along the wide-road network. With Sumitomo Corporation’s worldwide business inter-network, Thang Long Industrial Park is well connected with the world. It is our policy to support tenants from the beginning when they prepare to apply for investment license and following on for their successful operation.

We committed ourselves to keep and nurture a harmonious relationship with the locality. We support them to develop mentally as well as financially.

We committed ourselves to protect the environment. Even before the construction of our industrial park was started, we have carried out protective actions on the environment inside and around us. We aim to keep it CLEAN and GREEN. Later, during the construction work, we began to adopt the Environmental Management System. Through the effectiveness of the system, we are certified to ISO 14001. This shows our strong commitment to continually improve the environment.

The establishment of Thang Long Industrial Park was not decided to be isolated. It was planed to be part of the North Thang Long – Van Tri Development Area. This new town contains a housing area, a dry port, international schools, hospitals, entertainment facilities as well as essential infrastructures such as power stations, purified water supply system, etc. for which the Government of Japan provides financial support by the Japan Bank For International Cooperation (formerly known as OECF).

Up to the date, Vietnam has in total more than 60 industrial parks scattering in almost every province which have attracted more than 900 investors with a total registered capital of around US$ 8 billion. Thang Long Industrial Park, with its advantages, will be the leading industrial park in Vietnam, making Hanoi the very competitive location in term of foreign investment of the country.

In a long term plan, the Government of Vietnam wants to push up the development of the North, especially the economic triangle Hanoi – Hai Phong – Quang Ninh. With this plan, the Government hopes to narrow the gap in development with the South. One of the factors which influences the socio – economic development is the attraction of foreign investment. The presence of industrial parks in Hanoi is also aimed at the same target. At the moment, Hanoi has 5 industrial parks of which 3 are in operation.

The opening of Thang Long Industrial Park in Hanoi brings in new opportunities to capture foreign direct investments and new technologies. If filled up with successful investors, Thang Long Industrial Park greatly contributes to the socio – economic development of Hanoi City as well as Vietnam, particularly as follows:

• Thang Long Industrial Park becomes an important core element initiating the formation of North Thang Long – Van Tri Development Area;

• Thang Long Industrial Park captures a huge foreign investment capital;

• Thang Long Industrial Park creates new jobs for Hanoi City and the local District;

• Thang Long Industrial Park helps improve the investment environment of Hanoi;

In conjunction with the Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zones Authority and the Government of Vietnam, Thang Long Industrial Park Corporation implements a one-door service to help investors go through procedures at its quickest. Investors do not have to worry about land clearance, nor the possibility of supplying of infrastructure such as power, clean water, etc.
